Maes exhibits both power and subtlety in “Akatsuki.”Maes is making a grand comeback in 2023. The artist from Sevran has unveiled his album “Omerta” with a true All Star Game of French rap, featuring collaborations with artists such as Kanya Samet, Gims, Morad, Niska, Koba LaD, and Gazo. Certified gold, the rapper presents his new single titled “Akatsuki,” in reference to Naruto.

Contrary to what one might think, the style of Maes has evolved significantly since “Pure.” Initially associated with tracks at slower BPMs, he returns with more energy in “Les derniers salopards,” and expands his repertoire with “Réelle Vie 3.0” and “Omerta.” The track “Akatsuki” was composed by Harrison and Nino Vella, two renowned producers who have previously collaborated with the rapper. Harrison is notably the composer of “Omerta” and “Galactic,” while Nino Vella worked on the track “Fetty Wap.”

The composition has Latin influences with a highly rhythmic bass beat. The track echoes “Galactic” and fits within Maes’s new style. The video was directed by the usual Hustler Game team, somewhere in the opulent desert of a country.
